Enrico Milesi

Born in S. Giovani Rotondo in 1945. Lives and works in Varese. He attended the Art Institute (ceramics) in Cascano (CE) in the years 1962/65, the painting academy with Brancaccio (Naples) in the years 1965/66, he practiced sculpture with Emilio Greco at the academy in Naples in the years 1966/67 and painting with Gentilini at the Academy of Rome in 1968, at the same time frequenting Renato Guttuso.

Enrico Milesi has spent his entire life as an artist daring, absorbing various languages and experimenting almost daily, maintaining the almost carnal union with the material firmly, evidence of a great creative energy and stubborn curiosity, which drives him to "put in art” what the world communicates to him, for better or for worse.

His is an almost sonorous, drumming colour, and at first the viewer sees distant references to Rotella, even to Magritte, to an ironic and theatrical conceptual art, except that, from time to time, ours falls back on a more meditative, poetic and nostalgic, as in landscapes with earthy and affocated colors.

Life is a labyrinth, but Milesi knows how to get out of it in defiance of Minos, and the common thread is precisely art, the last word he can pronounce to save his soul from the corruption brought about by modernity.

And with art, friend and companion, the painter loves to joke, dissolve in color even the apprehensions, the alarm bells due to our incivility, which an artist can hear before anyone else, to then communicate the danger to the world near future.
