THE GROUP
Founded in 2018, within the walls of the "Guido Cantelli" Conservatory of Novara, the Canaja Brass Quintet brings together the passion and ambition of five musician friends, to give life to an ensemble capable of enhancing the brass instruments, and their varied repertoire and captivating, in chamber music.
Finalists of the Premio delle Arti in the Chamber Music section in 2021, for years the Canajas have also been committed to commissioning new music from young Italian composers, then offering it to the public, alongside the great literature written for this formation. Particularly appreciated by critics for their harmony and the great energy they are able to transmit, under the banner of a sincere and contagious irony.
They offer varied and lively programmes, embracing different musical styles distant in time and culture, each time accompanying the public on a sound journey between places and emotions.
ERIKA PATRUCCO
Born in 1997, he began playing the trumpet at the age of eight with his father, and then continued his studies with Alberto Mandarini at the Vallotti School in Vercelli.
In 2021 he obtained the II level Academic Diploma with full marks and honors at the
"Guido Cantelli di Novara" Conservatory, in the class of M° Gabriele Cassone.
He has participated in the masterclasses of numerous first orchestral parts and some of the greatest trumpet soloists. He attended the Chosen Vale International Trumpet Seminar in the USA.
Parallel to his academic studies, he attended the masterclass Professione Orchestra Accademia di Pinerolo with Roberto Rossi and subsequently Objective Orchestra, with Ivano Buat and Sandro Angotti, at the Scuola di Alto Perfezionamento Musicale in Saluzzo. He is currently studying at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia in Rome with M° Andrea Lucchi.
He has collaborated and collaborates with the orchestra of the Stefano Tempia Choral Academy, the Orchestra Talenti Musicali, the Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia, with the Coccia Theater of Novara, the Italian Youth Orchestra, the Milan Symphony Orchestra and the Arena di Verona Foundation. She is also involved in productions that require the use of ancient instruments with the Claudio Abbado Civic School of Milan, the Theresia Youth Orchestra, the "Il Pomo d'Oro" orchestra and the "Gli Originali" orchestra of Bergamo.
It was found suitable for the Infinitude Orchestra of Music System Italy 2022 edition, the Theater
Comunale di Bologna, the FVG Orchestra, the Petruzzelli Theater in Bari and the Rome Opera House.
MICHELE TARABBIA
He was born in Borgomanero in 1995 and began studying trumpet at the age of 9 with Maestro Alessio Molinaro at the Giacomo Puccini Philharmonic in Suno.
He obtained a first level degree in trumpet with a score of 110/110 at the Guido Cantelli Conservatory in Novara under the guidance of Maestro Gabriele Cassone, with whom he is finishing his master's studies.
He has taken part in masterclasses of various international artists, both solo and orchestral.
He collaborates with the Coccia Theater of Novara, the Theresia Orchestra, the Baroque ensemble Gli Invaghiti and with various Italian and Swiss musical realities.
FEDERICO ARMARI
Born in Biella in 1991, he began his first musical studies at the age of 11 at the Philharmonic Society of Occhieppo Inferiore (BI) with M. Claudio Dozio.
He obtained the I and II level Academic Diploma in Horn with full marks at the “G.Cantelli” Conservatory in Novara, under the guidance of Maestros Valerio Maini, Imerio Prina Tagliaferri and Roberto Miele.
He regularly attended the masterclasses of internationally renowned teachers, continuing his training with Maestro Loris Antiga at the Milano Music Master School in Milan and Maestro Guglielmo Pellarin at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome.
He collaborates with the FuturOrchestra of Milan, the Orchestra of the Coccia Theater of Novara, the Orchestra of the University of Milan-Bicocca, the City of Vigevano Orchestra, the FVG Orchestra and the Italian Rhythmic Symphony Orchestra.
He is a horn teacher at the Liceo Musicale “P. Gobetti” of Omegna (VB).
A great supporter of the importance of band associations for the diffusion of music and the musical education of children, he collaborates both as a teacher and as a musician in the Biellese provincial ANBIMA for the Educere and Giovaninbanda projects, two training proposals aimed at young people (and not only ) and aimed at a wide-ranging musical and educational path, with a strong impact on local realities.
He also plays in ensembles such as the Biella-ANBIMA Youth Music Band, the Orchester d'Harmonie du Val d'Aoste, the Villadossola Philharmonic, the Philharmonic Society of
Occhieppo Inferiore and in the instrumental group "Fiori all'Occhieppo", and the Musical Society G.Verdi Città di Biella.
NICOLÒ BOMBELLI
Born in Erba in 1999, he approaches the world of music by attending the local musical middle school, then continuing his studies at the Liceo Musicale Teresa Ciceri in Como.
He obtained the bachelor's degree at the "Guido Cantelli" Conservatory of Novara, with honors. He is currently attending the two-year academic year at the "Gaetano Donizetti" Conservatory in Bergamo. He attended the masterclasses of some of the great masters of the trombone, passing the selection to participate in the Alessi Seminar 2022, an international masterclass held by Joe Alessi in Italy, with students from all over the world.
Winner of some national music competitions, he is trombonist of the contemporary chamber group "Divertimento Ensemble", directed by Sandro Gorli. collaborates with the orchestra of the Accademia della Scala and the Pomeriggi Musicali, the Vivaldi Symphony Orchestra, the Magna Grecia Orchestra, the Lario Symphony Orchestra, the Coccia Theater Orchestra of Novara and with the Italian Conducting Academy by Gilberto Serembe.
He has played with the OGSI (Youth Orchestra of Italian Switzerland), the Mozart Orchestra of Milan, the Verdi Junior, the OIGA (Italian Academy Young Orchestra) and other orchestral ensembles.
He is also a trombonist in funky and jazz groups such as "Sax'n the city", "Arbrobox" and the "Santa Cecilia big band" from Meda.
MARINA BOSELLI
Born in Como in 1998, she began studying the euphonium at the age of 12. He obtained the I and II level Academic Diploma in Euphonium at the "Guido Cantelli" Conservatory of Novara, in the class of Maestro Corrado Colliard, both with full marks and honours. Winner of numerous national and international competitions, she is active in Italy and abroad as a soloist, especially in the field of contemporary music, where she presents numerous world premieres and several pieces dedicated to her.
She worked in some seasons of the Divertimento Ensemble, of the CRM (Centro di Ricerche Musicali) in Rome, also collaborating as a guest musician at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, chosen as a soloist for the world premieres of two new works born in the class of Electronic Music of the advanced specialization course held by Maestro Michelangelo Lupone (AY 2021/2022).
He has also to his credit numerous chamber music concerts in duo with piano, in various prestigious festivals and reviews, of national and international scope.
Since 2018 he has been principal euphonium soloist of the Civica Filarmonica di Lugano, conducted by Maestro Franco Cesarini, with whom he has performed in Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Austria, and with whom he recently recorded the CD “Symphony no. 3: Urban Landscapes”, published by Edition Franco Cesarini.
He has held various masterclasses, as a guest lecturer, for institutions such as the North Texas Low Brass Camp (USA) and the Universidade Federal Do Rio Grande Do Norte (Brazil), as well as in local musical realities, such as the Accademia Bandistica Comasca.
He teaches Euphonium at the “Giovanni Battista Grassi” Liceo Musicale in Lecco. She is currently pursuing the II Level Academic Diploma in Ensemble Music, in Mª Monica Cattarossi's class, at the "Giuseppe Verdi" Conservatory in Milan, where she recently won the "Wind Soloists" Category of the VIII Conservatory Prize, winning the prestigious scholarship "Ettore Pesenti".
